Other things to do with a pocket watch die!

Hi, you may have noticed I seem to have a thing about the Tim Holtz pocket watch die, and have decided to try some different ideas.

Here is another one of I hope many depending on energy levels. Its hot and sunny here so decided. On a pretty summer theme, which for me lately is very different (I don't normally do pretty),may be after this all will change!

The first picture shows the finished pocket watch, this is a simple idea, using the pocket watch die as a window on the world.

I will list materials used and give you a brief rundown of how to put it together.

Dies used
Sizzix pocket watch
Sizzix movers and shapers circles
Impression obsession DIE042-1 spiral flower.
Impression obsession leaf cluster.
Spellbinders Expandable patterns, butterfly magic s5-153
Grunge board
Black with black core mount board
Clarity semi gloss card white
Clarity semi glossy paper
Various dye based stamping ink
Pro marker pens
Jones tones silver glitter
Textured card stock
Distressed paint picket fence
Collell universal glue
Art glitter glue dries clear

First I cut one whole pocket watch to use as a back (using grunge board).I then cut three pocket watch frames, using the sizzix largest movers and shapers circle die placed inside the pocket watch
die. Two in grunge board to add depth when put together and the final one in black mount board.

The grunge board I painted white at the outer and inner edges also on the back of the solid watch, which will be where to inscribe or stamp a message.

Next I cut out the flowers using the semi glossy Clarity paper with the Impression Obssession mini spiral flower die. Then while still flat coloured them on both sides using pro markers ,using several colours on each flower allows the colour to mix as they blend together on the glossy surface.
Once dry, using tweezers rolled each flower up putting the side I wanted to show in the middle.
I didn't want to use a heat gun so I added a small circle of collall glue to a none stick craft sheet and placed an individual flower on the sheet.(This works well using the semi glossy paper, as it holds it's shape really well and is strong enough to push the petals into shape.

The next step was to create a back ground,i felt a sun set or sun rise would go well with the colours i had chosen for my flowers.this i created a bayer like effect using brushes,it does not have to be perfect.I used Clarity card for this as its surface is perfect for either brayer or brush effects with dye based inks.

Here i cut out another pocket watch useing the Clarity gossy card {this one whole as if i was going to use it as a back}.I placed it where i wanted on the expadable patten die from Spellbinders cut it and then glued it on to the black pocket watch frame.

next i cut another expandable pattern this time using the whole die making sure that i had the butterfly as a whole, this i trimmed out to add on top once all the rest had been put together.

As you can see i added some Jones Tones glitter and two of the very small roses.
Then it was just glueing it together layer by layer starting from the back.
The layers are pocket watch back.
Backgound circle.
Two grunge board frames.
The black pocket watch frame with the expandable pattern glued to it.
Add the decorated butterfly the small leaves and flowers.

To finish here is a close up of the flowers.
